Burres likely to stay in Bucs' rotation

Burres shows command over Braves

Brian Burres, who was summoned to start after Jeff Karstens was scratched on Sunday due to shoulder soreness, allowed one run on five hits — all singles — over six innings in a spot start to lift the Pirates to a 3-1 victory over the Braves on Monday afternoon.

Ohlendorf injury starts hard fall to Cards

Another early injury exit for Ross Ohlendorf spelled doom for the Pirates on Monday night at PNC Park. St. Louis built up too big a lead off Ohlendorf's replacement, reliever Sean Gallagher, for Pittsburgh to erase in what ended as a 10-2 loss.

McDonald sharp as Pirates snap seven-game skid

It didn’t take James McDonald long to fit in with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
