Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) – Former Pirates general manager Joe L. Brown died Sunday at the age of 91.

Brown was the Pirates’ GM from 1955-76, during which time the team won two World Series titles (1960, ’71). “The news of Joe’s passing yesterday afternoon at the age of 91 was met with great sadness by everyone within the Pirates organization,” said Pirates president Frank Coonelly in a statement.

Running low on time today, i’ll be back tomorrow hopefully with some more news.
